Important Notes about Auction Donations

• We are committed to transparency and making the greatest possible impact for our animals. Here’s how donated items may be used:

• Items may be sold across multiple platforms, including Facebook auctions, online sales, silent auctions, yard sales, direct sales, or other SCAS fundraising events. We choose the platform that we believe will raise the most funds for veterinary care.

• Seasonal items may be held until the appropriate time of year to maximize their value. For example, holiday items donated in the summer may be saved for later in the year.

• Some items may be grouped together to create themed baskets or packages that increase fundraising potential.

• Certain donated items may be kept for direct use with animals at the shelter.

• Items that cannot be used by the shelter may be donated to Knox Area Rescue Ministries (KARM) for resale in their thrift stores.

• If you are unsure whether an item would be helpful, we encourage you to call or message us. We’re happy to guide you.

• Due to the volume of donations and selling platforms, we are unable to provide item-by-item tracking once donations are received.
